Rydin Dirty

1987 TRX250r

My 250r. I bought this off ebay for $2800. The auction listed it as a 1988, but I bought a swingarm skidplate for it but it didn't fit. I checked the vin on the frame and found out it was a 87. So I bought a skid plate for a 87 and it didn't fit. So I don't know what year it is. I will probably do some custom fabrication to make the skidplate fit.The guy I bought it from didn't know alot about it, except that he just rebuilt the topend and put in a Hinson clutch.  He said it had some porting that was done before he had it. It came with a clampon K&N filter, since I ride in the mud and water I didn't think this was a good setup. So I found a stock airbox on ebay, and am now running a Amsoil Power Sports Air Filter with Amsoil High Tack Filter Oil. Other modifications that I know of include FMF Gold Series exhaust and 36mm Keihin PJ Carb with 150 main jet. It didn't have any lights on when I got it. This wasn't good since I like to ride at night. So I got some cheap chrome headlights on ebay, then I fabricated some led lights for the taillights. I run Amsoil Dominator at 50 to 1 with 92 octane pump gas and Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 in the tranny. I use Amsoil MP Heavy Duty Metal Protector for the chain. I also think the rear shock has either been revalved, because it has PEP sticker on it. Anyways it run and handle pretty good for a $2800. Theres nothing like the feeling of hitting the powerband on a two stroke. It could use a little more lowend power, for trail riding. Some futures mods include some 1DIRRACING G3 reed valves and a reed spacer, Maxxis razr tires, and in the future a CT racing 270 Powervalve motor.

Willie's Warrior

This is my stepsons 1987 Yamaha Warrior. I bought in 2004 for $2000, I know it was a little high for an 87. I bought it from a neighbors friend so I knew it was in good condition. The motor was recently rebuilt. It had new Maier plastic, AC front bumper and swingarm skid plate, DuraBlue axle, K&N air filter, Team Alba spark arrestor silencer, and Maxxis Raxr on the rear. It also has steel nerf bars I don't know the brand. I've added a rear shock from a 2001 Raptor. I run pump gas . I use Amsoil 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil in the engine, and currently have a K&N oil filter in it. Willie has rode it hard and it has stood up well. Future mods include a front shocks from a 2002 Raptor, a lifetime oil filter, oil cooler, homemade air scoops, and way in the future a big bore kit.

1991 Yamaha Blaster

This a 1991 Yamaha Blaster that I bought from a friend for $400 dollars. It was locked up, but in otherwise in good condition. It was all stock except for ITP Blackwater tires and Douglas aluminum rims on the rear. The front plastic had some custom trimming, because the previous owner cracked them. I sent the cylinder off to Ritter Cycle to bore it and mill the head for increased compression. I also sent him the crank and had him rebuild it. He sent back a Wiscoe piston and all the seals and gaskets to put it back together, he's a good guy and is reasonably priced. Before i put it back together I ported the cylinder with a Race Logic porting template. During the rebuild I lost the woodruff key thats hold the flywheel in place, so I added a Vito's degree key. I since have added a 28 mm Keihin knockoff carb from CPW off Ebay. The threads for the cap off the stock carb were stripped. I also added a reed spacer and activex reeds from Vito's racing. I'm running a clampon K&N filter with a outerwear. I retained the oil injection and use Amsoil Interceptor. In the tranny I run Amsoil Severe Gear. I replaced the front and rear brakes with grooved Vesrah brakes. I eliminated the parking brake with a shorty rear brake cable from Motion Pro. I painted the rear caliper and front drums yellow. My nephew Chase and stepdaughter Brandy ride it. I also ride it to, it has incredible throttle response and low end torque, which provides for a fun ride. The stock exhaust is restrictive on the topend though. This is actually my project quad. I want to build a fun to ride quad that looks good, but i don't want to spend more than the price of a new Blaster. Click here to view progress of this build up.

Polaris Scrambler 500

This is my brother and my 2003 Polaris Scrambler 500.It is stock except for a K&N Air Filter. It is a good all around quad. I keep it for people who come with us that don't have a quad . I use Amsoil 4 Stroke Power Sports Oil 0W-40 and a Super Duty Motorcycle Oil Filter in the engine. In the transmission I use Amsoil Chain Case Lubricant. I haven't changed the oil in the front differential yet, I use Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector on the chain.

This is a 2003 Polaris Trailblazer 250. I bought it for Karen my wife when she started riding. It was a good starter quad for her, but she wants something a little peppier, lighter and smaller. I thinking either a trx250ex with the sport clutch, or the new 250 Suzuki that they talk about coming out in 2008. Originally I had big plans to modify it. So far it has a K&N Air Filter, Wisecoe Pro-Lite Piston, Race Logic Porting, Milled Head, And a White Polaris Primary Spring.I wanted to add a HPD pipe, but Karen doesn't like the ring-a-ding of a good two stroke pipe. I use Amsoil Interceptor in the oil injection system, and Amsoil Chain Case Lubricant in the transmission. On the chain I use Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector.
