Oil Injection Blockoff

By Jeremy at Blaster Riders

this is for a purchased oil block off kit, i dont believe in making this parts....if you dont use a nice flat piece of metal to make the blockoff plate youll be in worse shape than you started.
1: remove oil pump cover, phillips screwdriver
2: remove the outer oil pump, phillips screwdriver
3: remove right side footpeg, let hang by spring,14mm socket or wrench
4: remove kicker lever, 17mm wrnch or socket
5: remove side cover bolts, 8mm deep socket works best
6: place drain pan under quad
7: heres the trick...dont just go pulling like hell on the side cover, while pushing on the kicker shaft slowly work the clutch cover off, and over the kicker shaft, by putting pressure on the shaft it stays in place..so does the spring, and you wont have to ask someone later how to get the spring back on.
8: now that the cover is off...look inside, youll see a circlip on the backside of the pump drive gear, remove the clip with a flat screwdriver, remove the shaft
9: reinstall the cover with a new gasket
10: place the blockoff plate over the shaft hole(with a gasket) and tighten the screws
11: replace everything you took off in reverse order
12: remove oil res and hose, block off case plug(where oil hose used to go)with rtv silicone or tapered plugs
13: plug off the oil hose on the carb with the supplied plug, if you skip this or overlook it, might as well kiss your engine goodbye, huge vaccuum leak..lean...meltdown
14: DRAIN ALL GAS FROM GAS TANK!!!!! start over with a fresh supply of 93 octane mixed to whatever ratio your oil manufacturer recommends for premix(usually 32:1)
15: fill crankcase with fresh oil...80w bel ray recommended by me, but use whatever brand your comfy with
16: install new spark plug and test ride...you may need to rejet, i've seen it go both ways..dont chance it.

tool list
14mm socket or wrench
8mm deepwall socket
17mm socket or wrench
12mm socket & wrench if you have heelgaurds
phillips screwdriver
flat blade screwdriver
pliers
ratchet
6" extension
premix oil
case oil
heres some pics, i figure everyone can take pegs off...cover off etc. this is for the internal portion. i also believe everyone can figure out how to install the cover plate once the pump shaft is removed..notice the kicker shaft and spring are still installed in the engine case...the clip on the white gear needs to come off...then the gear and shaft will come right out.
