How To Rejet Carb

(this is from planet blaster and was written up by yfs101)

Start by first cleaning the out side of the carb while it’s on the bike. You do not want any dirt getting into the carb.

Depending on what adjustments need to be made you may or may not need to remove the carburetor from the engine. Often you can just loosen the clamps and turn the carb in the intake boots enough to gain acces to the float bowl screws and jets. Other times you will need to remove the cap to change the slide or needle clips positions. For these pics I removed the carb from the bike by removing the throttle cable from the TORS unit.

#1 Start by removing the float bowl screws.

#2 Once the bowl is off you will see a large brass jet in the middle of the carb. This is the main jet. Just below it down in the tube is the pilot jet. Also you will see the floats and float valve assembly. Make sure this area is clean and free of any dirt. You can spray it down with a carb cleaner if dirty.

#3Using a 6mm socket remove the main jet plastic slash guard and washer. In the second pic you will see the washer still stuck on the end of the needle jet. Don’t loose it.

#4 Now using a small flat blade screwdriver remove the pilot jet. Be careful, use a good fitting screwdriver. You don’t want to damage it.
In this second pic you can see the main jet, splach guard and washer, as well as the pilot jet.
Just install you new jets and re-install them back into the carb
